Choo Choo

We attend Thursday night trivia at Hard Road Brewing in Eastern Melbourne. There’s a regular question on these nights asking “On which Melbourne Metro Train Line would you find…?”. We are bad at this question.

Using Alpine.js to load mastodon statuses

So, I wanted to write a little loader for my Mastodon Toots on this here blog. So I cracked open Alpine.js and started hacking. Here’s some of the things I - as someone who stopped writing front-end code around the era of JQuery - discovered.

I Started A Company

Yep, the title kinda explains it, but what makes this different to the companies I’ve set up before and not done anything with? Well, this one started with a client and an income right out of the gate. Here’s the story.

The ADHD Diaries - part 1 - ADHD at work

So, I’ve started a new role recently. I posted earlier about my job search hassles and how the first quarter of the year was terrible. And the starting a new role has made me rather thoughtful about my ways of working and how they fit into a new workplace.

Crosswords 2! Guardian Friday Cryptic 29,367

Dave Gorman - aka Bluth, aka Fed - dropped an experimental video onto YouTube recently, which I spotted while browsing YouTube and then spotted again via Dave’s Mastodon account. It’s worth a watch. The idea is, essentially, that Dave creates a custom cryptic for a friend - in this case the actor Tony Gardner - and uses it almost as a casual interview or chat. Tony dives in and does the solution, Dave acts as mentor and coach and teases out some conversation as he goes. It’s worth a watch on Dave’s Gormhub Youtube channel. I think this has potential, although setting an entire themed crossword for each guest would probably make it somewhat labour-intensive, even for someone as productive as Gorman.

Weekend Update 21 Apr 2024 - what's going on?

Sunday April 21 2024. Liege Bastogne Liege day. Well, technically the day after because I got a little caught up in double-screening the race coverage alongside playing Steamworld Build on the XBox, so I’m catching up.

I updated this blog a bit

So yesterday’s blog post was quite well received on the fedi. By which I mean a few people read it and I got some feedback saying “Do more!”. So today I spent a little while actually making the site Better For Blogging.
